Rancho Obi-Wan’s annual fundraiser on Oct. 24th, Galaween, will celebrate the ties between Star Wars and Halloween with special guests, games, auctions, dinner and drinks.
Galaween takes place in the midst of the world’s largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia and is hosted by master-collector Steve Sansweet. The Gala will raise funds for the ongoing costs of maintaining Rancho Obi-Wan and enable us to continue our mission of inspiring others. We look forward to spending an incredible evening with you celebrating our mutual love of Star Wars and relaxing amongst friends!
SPECIAL GUEST: Don Post Jr. succeeded his dad as head of Don Post Studios, which was founded in 1938 (and was in business for 74 years) and provided masks and related items for both Hollywood films and the growing commercial and collectors’ market. Star Wars fans know it as one of the first Star Wars licensees and for its incredible range of over-the-head latex masks and helmets that were sold from 1977 through 2000. Thanks to Don, his successor company and Lucasfilm, Rancho Obi-Wan has become the repository for many original Don Post Star Wars mask molds and other pieces, which will be on public display for the first time at Galaween. Don will answer questions and chat about his early role in producing Star Wars memorabilia.
Add unique items to your collection:
SPECIAL GUEST: Alex Wer, aka The Pumpkin Geek was always obsessed with carving pumpkins. He began experimenting with using shading techniques and eventually shifted to “craft” pumpkins so that the pieces would last forever. Alex attends conventions, won a Geekie Award for his work, has been hired by Netflix, ESPN, and Legendary Entertainment; he has appeared on hundreds of blogs and was featured in People Magazine last year. Watch Alex carve one pumpkin live at Galaween and bid on a dazzling display of one-of-a-kind Star Wars pumpkins that will be offered at auction.
Indulge yourself with treats and services from our award-winning providers:
SPECIAL GUEST: Eileen the Light Coach, a “spiritual alchemist,” is a powerful Intuitive and Medium. As a child she grew up amidst palm and Tarot card readers and fortune tellers. Galaween guests will have the opportunity to have Eileen offer her insight through a special Force card reading.
