Steve Sansweet-led Tours
Steve leads one tour most Saturdays, usually at 2pm. In the event that professional obligations cause Steve’s absence, Rancho Obi-Wan will inform the guest(s) at the earliest possible time, but no later than a week prior to the planned tour. In the event of illness or an Act of God, Rancho Obi-Wan will inform the guest(s) as soon as it has that information. The guest(s) will then have the option to take the tour given by another guide, reschedule at no penalty within 12 months, or get a full refund. Friday tours are led by Rancho Obi-Wan’s Head of Docents, Lucas Seastrom.
Since Rancho Obi-Wan is located in a rural residential area please be considerate of our neighbors by not arriving early for your tour. Parking on the street is not permitted and walking there is dangerous because of the narrow road. Parking is available inside the Rancho Obi-Wan gate only at the time of your tour.
Children on Tours
Children 12 and under get in free with a supervising adult member of Rancho Obi-Wan. There cannot be any unaccompanied children under the age of 16, and one supervising adult is required for every two children under the age of 13. Please advise your younger wards that no touching is allowed. It has been our experience that Younglings under the age of five typically become bored, fidgety and disruptive because tours can be long and the subject matter rather in-depth. To encourage a quality tour for all our guests we do not recommend Younglings under the age of five attend the tour. Please email Anne to discuss email@example.com.
Tours and events must be scheduled within the membership year. Tour length ranges between one and four hours and may include up to 12 people, including people from groups other than your own. Tours and Events for 13 to 120 people can be made by special arrangement. All guests must submit their names, addresses, email and phone numbers in advance. All guests must be accompanied by a member of Rancho Obi-Wan. We do not guarantee admission and have the right to refuse entry to anyone.
All bags and coats must be checked at the door. Follow your tour guide through the museum and please do not touch or pick up any item in the collection unless handed to you by your guide. You are responsible for any damage you cause to the collection or the building. No food or drink allowed, except during events.
Tours can be cancelled up to 12 hours in advance and be rescheduled within the membership year. Please call if you are going to be late for your tour. A phone number will be supplied when you register.
Questions, photographs, and video are allowed and encouraged.
Please let us know ahead of time if you require access via a wheelchair or stroller. There are several sections of stairs and no wheelchair accessible restroom at this time, but we can arrange the tour so that wheelchairs and large strollers can view 85% of the collection.
